Our policy on giving out free help and advice

One of the most wonderful things about the world we live in today is that knowledge is free. Anyone can go to the library and check out books on accounting, taxes, or Quickbooks. Anyone can go online and research a particular question or problem, and if the answer hasn't already been published somewhere, you can pose the question on a public forum and have it answered by experts within days or even hours. This is why no one at Backyard Bookkeeper will ever treat our knowledge as proprietary. If someone asks me a question and I turn them away because they're not going to pay for the answer, they will just find the answer somewhere else and never come back to me. If, however, I do give an answer, next time they need help, they are more likely to come back. My hope is that by offering quality advice and help to everyone, the people we have helped will bring their big projects and big problems to us because of the relationship we already developed.
