We’ve been working on leadership development and lots of fun perks. The past little while has been known as the “Great Resignation” because employee attrition has been so high. What are you doing to help retain your employees?
I recently read an article with some useful, simple ways to retain your employees. It had some points worth sharing that I’ve expanded on a bit.
Here are 5 actionable employee retention strategies and some questions to ask yourself as an employer:
1. Competitive Salary and Benefits
a. What makes your company worth working for?
b. Can they go somewhere else doing the same thing for more money?
c. What benefits can you provide for your employees?
2. Effective Hiring
a. Are you spending time finding the right people – culture fit, values, experience?
b. Are your onboarding processes thorough and efficient?
3. Be Mindful of the Well-Being of the Employee
a. What are you doing to care for your employee as a whole?
b. How often do you ask how they are doing?
c. Are you aware of the things going on that could affect their work?
4. Being a Leader
a. Delegation, communication, training, all those buzz words – how are you doing?
b. Do your employees trust you?
c. Are you approachable? Teachable? Positive?
5. Encourage employee Engagement
a. Are your employees participating in meetings? Do you get them involved?
b. Are you doing activities to promote your culture?
